The Masseria Cardillo Winery, located in the heart of the ‘Metapontino’ zone on three adjacent hills facing the Ionian Sea, an area of high archaeological and natural interest, is just a short distance from the charming town of Matera.
The Relais Masseria is immersed in the beautiful Lucanian countryside and has 300 hectares of land which include 25 vineyards.

The geological structure of the calcareous soil with the presence of pebbles and gravel, the particularly temperate climate given its proximity to the sea and the succession of fertile valleys and gentle hills make this area particularly suitable for growing grapes.

The cultivated vines include Primitivo, which we find in two of the company’s important wines, Baruch and Goj, along with DOC Matera Moro for its Malandrina wine, plus Aglianico, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano and Moscato.

The winery, which is around 1000 square meters in size, focuses on continuous innovation, and uses cutting-edge machinery and the most modern technologies since the wine industry is in constant evolution.

Masseria Cardillo has received a number of prestigious awards for its wines, including those from of the Italian Sommelier Association, Gambero Rosso and the important Diploma of Great Mention received by from the DOC Matera Moro for Malandrina.
