MEET OUR TEAM

Bill Binczak - Owner and President

Bill has been in the food business for over 25 years from selling point-of-sale systems and restaurant equipment to various food products including fresh produce and shelf-stable canned items.

Years of attending wine-tasting events and frequent travels to Italy taught Bill to cherish the finer points (and little-known qualities) of the wines enjoyed every day in Italy, which are unfamiliar to most Americans. Bill is passionate about offering consumers a full representation of wines from across Italy, which will highlight the many incredible varietals available and the effects of soil, climate and geographic location on their production.

For a man who’s always traveling, during the summer the only place you’ll find Bill is driving to the Delaware beaches to relax and enjoy time with the family.

Stacey Binczak – Vice President of Operations and Marketing

As Director of Operations and Marketing for South Italy Imports, Stacey is responsible for planning, purchasing, warehouse operations, inventory, special-event coordination, and business development.

For nine years, Stacey developed business management skills in a major retailer where she concentrated on product selection, inventory planning, budgets, operations, pricing, and profitability. In late 2013, she joined her family on their quest to build the South Italy Imports portfolio and educate Americans on the fine wines Italy has to offer.  Stacey continues to hone her knowledge of wine through restaurant wine-tastings, exclusive wine events, and regular communications with Italian vineyards.

A resident of Delaware and beach girl at heart, Stacey is looking forward to long weekends at the beach with her family and new puppy Dewey whom they named after their favorite retreat, Dewey Beach.

Bill Binczak III – Vice President of Sales

Bill joined South Italy Imports in late 2010, when he started attending Italian trade events with his father. Since joining, Bill has expanded his knowledge of wine, as well as the business of selling wine. Along with heading the sales of SII, he has helped expand the company’s wine portfolio from one producer in 2011 to 15 producers and growing heading into 2015.

Today, Bill continues to work with restaurant accounts in Pennsylvania and Nevada to educate the public and the restaurant industry on the thousands of unique Italian varietals unfamiliar to most, but available to enjoy. He continues to expand his knowledge of Italian wines by attending industry events and cultivating deeper relationships with the wineries in Italy.

Bill is a resident of downtown Bethlehem, Pa., where he lives with his German Shepherd “Pullo.” He is a graduate of Penn State and is a huge fan of PSU and Philly sports teams. Away from work Bill loves nothing more than relaxing on the beach fishing with friends and family.

Dan Johnson - Greater Philadelphia Regional Sales Manager

Dan grew up in Oklahoma on a Pecan farm where he learned the importance of hard work and dedication. After visiting Europe he treasured his memories of Florence and would recall them many times in the next few years while he started his search for career and achievement.

He has always been more interested in the untold stories and undiscovered wines of the world. He feels that the smaller production rates allow the wine makers to impart more influence and love into the wine. For the 13 years he was in the restaurant business, he spent the most recent 8 years creating and executing some of the most creative and comprehensive beverage programs and wine lists. He now spends his days sharing the wines of South Italy Imports with the Greater Philadelphia Area and trying to provoke thought and promote positive wine philosophy through his blog.

He enjoys his nights at home with his small family, wife Lauren and baby Scarlett in Southern New Jersey, a rural area akin to where he grew up.
