South Italy Imports llc (SII) was started in 2001 to supply the pizza & restaurant industries with products imported from Southern Italy such as whole peeled and chopped tomatoes, Pomace oil, artisanal pastas and extra virgin olive oil.    In 2005, we decided to expand our company portfolio to include wine from Italy.     After starting with a single winery we modified our business model in 2008 to include indigenous wines from all 20 regions of Italy with a focus on the wines Italians drink every day where they live.   With over 1,600 varietals in the country but only about 700 genetically identified, we decided to focus on this group and source the most interesting lesser known varietals we could find.    We continue to taste and sample as many new wines as we can to maintain an open mind on flavors we believe the American public will enjoy.
