One of Friuli's indigenous 100% white grape varietals, the Friulano perfectly bridges the gap between a Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. It is spectacularly balanced with lemongrass and tart Granny Smith apple that's great for any time, day, or event. A fresh crisp zing of acidity adds a lively mouth feel as the flavors dance across the palate.

Casali Maniago Friulano

  • Classification: White Wine
    Varietal: 100% Tocai Friulano

Harvesting: Once the fruit has completely matured on the wine, bunches of grapes are picked, selected and quickly subjected to the wine-making process, being carefully pressed and then fermented under a controlled temperature (18°C)

Wine Process: The wine matures in steel “sur lies” barrels for around 6 months with periodic stirring up of the yeast contained within. The wine then continues to mature for around 3 months after being bottled, in the family's underground wine cellar dating back to the sixteenth century.

Notes: A mellow yet bright yellow colour with pleasant greenish reflections. An inviting bouquet with the characteristic aromas of acacia flowers, thyme, chamomile and fragrant fruit. Soft and flavoursome on the palate, with incredible freshness and mineral qualities, leaving behind a slightly bitter hint of almonds. Best served with white meats, ham, pastas and rice dishes.
